At Birmingham City University I lead a final year optional module on Communication & Language. I have also been involved in teaching for the following modules:
- Neuropsychology
- Research Methods & Statistics
I also supervise undergraduate and MSc dissertation students.
At the University of Toronto I was employed as a contract lecturer to develop and teach two full undergraduate modules:
Cognitive Development (lecture-based course for 3rd year undergraduates), Sept - Dec 2015
- Developed and delivered material for 10 x 3-hour lectures, 2 x 2-hour exams, and 2 assignments
- Topics covered included: theories of cognitive development, knowledge of the physical world, knowledge of the social world, numerical cognition, causal reasoning, theory of mind, language acquisition, conceptual development
Comparative Cognition (seminar course for 4th year undergraduates), Jan - Apr 2016
- Developed reading list for 12 x 2-hour seminars, set and graded weekly reaction paper questions, structured and guided weekly in-class discussions, developed and graded assignments
- Topics covered included: spatial cognition, object knowledge, numerical cognition, tool-use, causal reasoning, social intelligence, theory of mind, prosociality
